SOZIO GOES GREEN WITH DfE - Download our CleanScents DfE Fragrance Line of Products (xcel)

 

Sozio Inc, a global fragrance company based in Edison, New Jersey, is pleased to announce that a number of the new CleanScents line of fragrances have met the stringent DfE Criteria for Fragrances and will be listed on the prestigious CleanGredients® database. The CleanGredients® database is an online resource that lists safer ingredients including those that are acceptable for use in DfE recognized cleaning product formulations.

 

The DfE Criteria for Fragrances was developed by the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Design for the Environment (DfE) and a group of stakeholders (http://epa.gov/dfe/dfe_stakeholder_groups.html#fragrances) that included members from the fragrance industry, cleaning products formulators, environmental non-governmental organizations and others.

 

The criterion is focused on human health consideration as well as environmental fate and toxicity.

 

Product categories that are covered by these criteria include the following: all-purpose cleaners, carpet care products, machine warewash detergents, dish wash detergents, floor care products, manual dish wash detergents, hard surface cleaners , washroom cleaners, hand soaps (non FDA regulated) and laundry detergents.

 

The following CleanScents fragrances White Blossom, Ocean Breeze, Melon Apple, Green Floral, Sassafras, Peach, Wintermint, Tropical Medley, Orange and Clean Linen meet the DfE criteria for Fragrances and are acceptable for use in DfE recognized products. Additional fragrances are currently under evaluation by NSF International, an independent third party evaluator for the DfE Safer Product Labeling and CleanGredients® Database. “By listing their fragrances on CleanGredients®, Sozio, Inc can help formulators of cleaning products choose fragrances that minimize the impacts on human health and the environment, while reducing their review costs,” said Teresa McGrath, NSF International Supervising Toxicologist.

 

Formulators who subscribe to the CleanGredients® database can find the list of acceptable fragrances for use in DfE recognized products at www.cleangredients.org.
