Our CSR approach

As a longtime leader in clean and natural perfumery, Sozio is committed to minimising its environmental footprint and having a positive impact on society.

We integrate a global approach to environmental and social responsibility into our strategy, supported by a dedicated CSR team. Sozio sets targets each year to take this approach further.

An environmental commitment

We are working hard to improve our commitment to sustainability. In this context, Sozio works with EcoVadis, a collaborative platform for sharing information on sustainability performance. The rating methodology covers 21 sustainability criteria divided into 4 themes: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement. It is based on leading standards such as GRI, UNGC and ISO 26000 and is overseen by an international scientific committee. The overall EcoVadis score (0-100) reflects the quality of the company’s sustainability management system at the time of the assessment.
Sozio was awarded the ECOVADIS silver medal in 2021 and plans to achieve gold medal in 2023.
At every stage of the fragrance life cycle, from the purchase of raw materials to the end of life of the manufactured products, Sozio is committed to the development of respectful and innovative products.

Sozio is convinced that innovation is a major asset for a better future. The R&I teams are working on numerous projects to improve the performance of fragrances while minimizing their environmental impact. In this respect, our innovation team recently launched Cosmocaps, an encapsulation technology to replace synthetic microcapsules made from microplastics. This technology received a prize at the Cosmetiquemag Awards in the category of best beauty-tech innovation in BtoB.

Our sourcing strategy has been redefined with the Botanicals division, which ensures short supply chains while favoring local producers and suppliers such as associations or NGOs. Our teams work closely with producers to support them on sustainable developments.

Sozio places good social practices at the heart of its development strategy, so that it can develop its business as healthily as possible while continuing to promote the values that it considers important. Our company is committed to all market players (consumers, customers, suppliers, competitors) through the strict application of the principle of transparency and respect for the environment.

Our purchasing policy ensures global sourcing for our customers, and we work closely with producers. We guarantee them a fair and regular income, while anticipating market fluctuations in order to take their problems into account. We meet regularly with our suppliers to maintain a relationship of trust and proximity, and we are fully committed to transparent and qualitative partnerships.

At Maison Sozio, the well-being of employees and collaborators is essential and their good working conditions are of the utmost importance. We listen and encourage discussion in order to promote good working relationships, fairness and the optimal integration of all employees. We also believe in developing individual talents and therefore offer complementary training to bring out the potential of each individual. We assist in furthering young people’s skills and knowledge through our partnerships with schools and the recruitment of interns and work-study students.

At Sozio, we believe that there is a balance between work and private life, which is why we promote flexible working hours and arrangements, while creating a pleasant and ergonomic work space.
